Dr. Ajay Bharat Jhaveri

Dr. Ajay Bharat Jhaveri is a Mumbai-based Gastroenterologist with National Board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology, having acquired the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) title in both these streams. With more than 10 years of experience in hospital and clinical settings, Dr. Jhaveri is currently Consultant Gastroenterologist in the Department of Gastroenterology at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai. He is also available for consultation at the Imaging Point Clinic on weekday evenings.

Dr. Ajay Jhaveri was associated with Jaslok Hospital for several years during his training. He was resident there while pursuing the DNB accreditation, first from February to July 2005 in the Department of Oncology and Haematology, and then from August 2005 to July 2008 in the Department of Internal Medicine. His next stint from August 2008 to April 2010 was as Medical Advisor to the Central Bank of India, Mumbai, and Emergency Medical Officer at Jaslok Hospital. From April 2010 to April 2013 he was once again resident in Jaslok Hospital, in the Department of Gastroenterology. After clearing the DNB (Gastroenterology) exam, he was designated as Clinical Associate from May 2013 to May 2014 in the same department, and subsequently as Consultant.

In addition to his clinical commitments, Dr. Jhaveri has worked on research projects and clinical trials, published papers in medical journals, delivered talks, and helped in the organisation of national and international conferences. He has been actively involved in national health programmes connected to pulse polio, leprosy and malaria eradication. He has participated in social awareness programmes held by the Preventive and Social Medicine Department of TN Medical College, and has been involved in community geriatric medical camps, as well as camps for school and orphanage children. He has worked at Primary Health Centres in the villages of Parol and Bhathane, as part of his service to the community. He has received numerous awards for his outstanding academic and professional work, and for his efforts at state level painting competitions, elocution and dramatics. Dr. Jhaveri is on the faculty team at CeMAST, a Centre for excellence in Minimal Invasive and Advanced Surgical Training at Johnson and Johnson's Ethicon Institute.
